Amy Shepker Joins Metisentry as Controller, CPA
Akron-based Metisentry (www.metisentry.com) announced that Amy Shepker has been hired in the key position of Controller. Shepker joins Metisentry during a period of growth and brings with her over 27-years of experience in corporate accounting and business finance. Shepker will act as Controller and will oversee Metisentry's finance, IT, and human resource departments. She will report directly to Metisentry President, Marling Engle.
Shepker 27-years of experience spans a variety of industries including enterprise and small businesses. She's worked for Fifth-Third bank as part of the tax team, a staffing agency, and has been the owner of her own consulting firm. She's also held an ownership stake in a Fortune-1000 franchise.
"It has made me realize that no matter the size of the organization, they are all still trying to manage and solve the same problems,” said Shepker. “Working in different industries has given me a unique perspective and has shown me there are many ways to solve the same problem."
As part of the executive team, Shepker will have a direct impact on Metisentry's growth and investment initiatives.
"What drew me to Metisentry was the corporate culture. I loved the vision for the business and the way decisions were being made to further its growth, said Shepker. "I'm excited to be able to help better define my role within the organization."
When she's not working, Shepker is spending time as a national trainer and volunteer for a student exchange program called, Youth for Understanding. She is also active in the world of martial arts and holds a second degree black-belt.
