Ben Woods Joins Metisentry as Vice President of User Experience

Akron-based Metisentry (www.metisentry.com) announced that Ben Woods has been hired in the key position of Vice President of User Experience. Woods joins Metisentry during a period of focused growth and brings two decades of experience in diverse roles, including web designer at design firms and ad agencies, global manufacturing firms, and as a full-time faculty member at Kent State University. Woods started his career with leading firms in Cleveland and Akron where he worked with client companies of all sizes, including sole-proprietorships and internationally known healthcare providers. He then joined Eaton Corporation and went on to become the first UX Manager for the company. As UX Manager, he led and developed UX capabilities for the company, including the development of best practices for interface design (web and mobile); user/customer research, usability testing, researching the effectiveness of brand and employee communications; managed web analytics implementation and reporting; deployed session replay and conversion optimization; longitudinal customer satisfaction tracking; construction of a usability lab; and the far-reaching re-architecture of the company's global web footprint, which led to proven, dramatic improvements in customer satisfaction.

"I'm excited to be a part of this growing team, and to build the premier user experience practice in Akron and beyond. Metisentry’s commitment to UX and design as strategic capabilities will provide increased value to the organization and clients that few other development companies can match."

As part of the executive team, Woods will have a direct impact on Metisentry's growth and organizational refinement.

Complementing his work at Metisentry, Woods is an adjunct lecturer with Kent State University's User Experience Design Program and serves as the chairperson of UXAkron—a nonprofit organization that hosts educational events in the greater Akron area. Ben also enjoys writing about UX topics and speaking at conferences both in the U.S. and abroad.

"We're extremely excited to have Ben on board as our new VP of User Experience," said Scott Wolf, Metisentry's COO. "His experience in solving complex business design problems and his ability in coaching talent to perform at a high level is going to be a true differentiator for us."
