Metisentry-Founded Station Check Announces Sale to Industry Leader
July 9th, 2019 -- CLEVELAND, OH-based software company, Station Check has announced the sale of its platform. Founded and incubated by Metisentry owner, Marling Engle, Station Check quickly grew and was spun off into its own entity in 2014 with co-founder and current CEO, Tony Crisalli, and lead investor, Fred DiSanto.
“We built Station Check to meet the demand within fire stations for the replacement of paper processes with digital processes,” said Engle. “After successful beta launch, demand increased. It was then we saw the real potential and presented the opportunity to Fred.”
After becoming an independent company, Engle and his development team at Metisentry worked to build and scale the product, while the StationCheck team continued to onboard new customers with new features. DiSanto led the investment activities, provided strategic guidance, and continued to fund the growth; ultimately orchestrating a successful exit. “It’s a great SaaS Factory story,” said Engle. “Station Check is one illustration of the paths in front of successful SaaS startups. We spotted an opportunity to build a valuable organization and serve a community. We seeded a team who continued to operate and grow the organization until the number one company in the industry acquired it.” Both Metisentry and Engle were Station Check shareholders at the time of the exit.
Station Check’s platform will now be available to a greater number of fire stations across the country. The acquisition was officially announced on July 8th, 2019, and specifics regarding financials are being withheld as it is a private sale.
